Hire a Wedding Planner!!

Image
Take a deep breath, climb atop of the biggest bed you can find, and jump up and down hysterically!!! YOU'RE GETTING MARRIED!!!!!                               Congratulations on your engagement!! Now regain your composure and call your parents. Tell them the good news first. Then send a mass text to all of your family and friends!! The 'proper' way would be to hold an engagement party and formally announce your engagement, but let's face it...technology has changed all of the rules! So here's an idea....tell your friends and THEN have an engagement party and 'formally' announce your engagement!! I highly recommend hiring a bridal consultant and/or wedding planner (here comes the plug.... Kiss and Tell Weddings ) to help you with the logistics (date, location, theme, budget, style, etc.) of your wedding.  As your bridal consultant, I will not tell you what to do but rath...

10 Ways to Save $$$$

10 Best Ways to Cut Costs {according to Mindy Weiss..with my 2 cents added} 1. Trim the guest list: the fewer guests--the fewer tables--the fewer centerpieces, the fewer expenses 2. Choose a gorgeous setting: this cuts down on the cost of decorations 3. Use a reception site that is already equipped with tables, chairs, flatware, and staff: save on delivery fees 4. Start the wedding earlier in the day: an early wedding means less food...unless you and your future spouse are foodies! 5. Limit the alcoholic offerings to wine, beer, and a signature cocktail ...or skip the alcohol altogether! 6. Move the wedding from Saturday to Sunday: or possibly to a weekday. Venues are less expensive during the week. 7. Eliminate the champagne toast: guests can raise their punch, water, or tea in your honor 8. Hire a DJ instead of a band.  9. Opt for standard sized invitations: irregular shaped invitations cost more to ship. 10. Skip favors: unless they ...

2017 in Review

Image
2017 was a blessed year for Kiss and Tell Weddings! I worked with some wonderful clients, professional vendors, and supportive family members. I was entrusted with the wedding planning, coordination, and execution of the newly married: Dr. and Mrs. Raines, Mr. and Mrs. Burkhalter, and Mr. and Mrs. Slevin. I also planned the Smith's baby shower and Mrs. Johnson's retirement party. I planned and presented at a discipline conference for educators. I worked with some amazing clients, awesome vendors, and fabulous family members. I am so grateful and blessed!! Thank you SheQueita, Aureal, Glenn, Mike, Jessica, Debra, Karesha, and Ronnie for making This an extraordinary year!

Lasting Love

"Love is a symbol of eternity. It wipes out all sense of time, destroying all memory of a beginning and all fear of an end." -Author Unknown   I was blessed to work with Mr. and Mrs. Hill to help celebrate their 25th Anniversary. The couple wanted to review their vows in front of loved ones and close friends. T he theme for the evening was LOVE...and it was definitely evident throughout the night!   The Hills The "luvlee" Mrs. Hill   Our wedding was many years ago. Summer of Love!

Image
August and September 2015 Thankfully, I have 2 weddings to coordinate this summer. I will have the honor of being present at the union of Mr. and Mrs. (to be) Smith and Mr. and Mrs. (to be) Hawkins! Coordinating a wedding sounds super fun but it is a lot of work! Timelines, places, contracts, hot meals (not luke warm), vendor placement, and contingency plans....just to name a few of the items that I handle. All of that is the "behind the scenes" work that make the "in front of the scenes" look nice. I also help clients with proper wedding etiquette. For example, never post registry information in your wedding invitation. You are requesting the company of your guests, which is why you invited them in the first place, not gifts. If you receive gifts, be sure to send handwritten thank you notes.  Guest RSVP is a service that I provide for my clients to relieve them of the duty of keeping count of who is attending and who is not. Tip: when handing out i...

SheQueita wants to know...

Image
Hello Newly Engaged!!! I asked some Brides-to-Be that if they had any wedding related questions to send them to me. Below are the questions SheQueita had. Hopefully, they will answer some questions that have been on your mind. If not, give me a call! SheQueita: "We both have huge families!! Who do we invite and who do we leave out? We don't want to hurt anyone's feelings." KTW: Great question SheQueita!!! First, start with both of your master lists...everyone that you think you should invite, want to invite, and will definitely invite. Second, assign each name to either category A or B. "A" are must-invites (family, BFFs, etc). "B" is everyone who is not an "A". Third, take a close look at category "B" guests. When was the last time you spoke to them? How close are you? If they did not attend your wedding would it upset your day? Asking yourself these questions will help you trim your guest list. verysmartbro...
