VaRhonda, If you are getting married during high travel times (holidays, summers, etc) then a save-the-date card is helpful to your guests. Also, if you have military family members or family who live out of state, save-the-date cards help tremendously with planning.  Sending save-the-date cards six months prior to the ceremony will allow guests time to book travel, hotel and request leave from work.
